2015 - Clark Tibbs - Carl Coleman Scholarship Winner

I will be graduating from Oneonta High School soon. I've rescued several dogs and orphaned kittens, a squirrel, and two birds. I, along with my family, have adopted three rescue horses (including a pregnant mare close to delivery). I've volunteered at the shelter before and was very interested in fostering animals, but I couldn't because I am leaving soon for UAB. I spent a very sad and hard week caring for my first dog as he battled the parvo virus after we took him home from the shelter. Thankfully he made a full recovery!

2013 - Alicia Williams

Alicia Williams is the 2013 recipient of BCASI's Carl Coleman Friend to Animals Scholarship

Alicia will be attending Wallace State Community College to pursue a career in nursing.

"I have volunteered the past two years at Camp Chula Vista in Pell City, AL. Camp Chula Vista is the Church of God camp in Alabama. My grandfather Wilburn Williams owns Branchwood Farms in Holly Pond, AL. There we raise Tennessee Walking Horses. Every summer we take about 10 horses to the camp for all the campers to ride. We start the first week in June and end the last week. The campers range from 6-18 years old. I was raised around these beautiful animals, and I have been so blessed to have had the opportunity to e around them, that I want others to know what it is to have one even for just a day."
