A litter of puppies or kittens that are surrendered to the county animal control facility stand a greater than 60% chance of never leaving alive. In an effort to stop these litters from entering the county facility, BCASI has formed a coalition under our Stop the Over Population  (STOP) program.

STOP  takes litters from pet owners before they are surrendered to the animal control facility and spays the mother. A coalition partner takes the litter, arranges for spay and neuter, and finds their forever homes.

STOP is a win for the litter, the pet owner, and the residents of the county who believe every animal deserves a chance for life.
